Synopsis

Mycotoxins, toxic metabolites of molds elaborated during their colonization of foods and feeds, pose a threat to human and animal life. Molds are the diverse group of fungi, which grow in compatatively dry and warm environments, produce copious amount of spores and promote the elaboration of these mycotoxins. V.K. Rao is a product of Osmania University, Hyderabad. He had a brilliant academic career, winning honours and awards in India and abroad. Dr. Rao is the autor of numerous scientific papers published in reputed India and Foreign periodicals. He is on the Editorial Institute of Government of India. He is praised for his valuable and technical writings at home and abroad.

S.M. Reddy

Dr. S.M. Reddy, Professor Emeritus (UGC), Department of Botany, Kakatiya University, is a recipient of Best Teacher Award by Govt. of A.P. He authored and edited about 15 books of university education. His research work spans over wide areas of microbiology right from microbial diversity to microbial biotechnology. He has guided 40 students for the Ph.D. degrees and published more than 400 original research papers in national and international journals. Successfully, he has completed nearly 20 research projects sponsored by different funding agencies. He is a fellow of many academic societies and an active member of several academic bodies.
