Ecology and Environment
The continuous degradation of our environment is linked to problems of pollution, loss of biodiversity, solid waste disposal, issues related to economic productivity, and national as well as ecological security. The increasing levels of global warming, the depletion of the ozone layer and a serious loss of biodiversity have also made everyone aware of the growing environmental concerns. It is feared that a large proportion of life on earth may get wiped out in the near future.
This book is the compilation of thirty research and review articles contributed by senior faculty members of Indian universities and scientific institutions. With its application oriented and interdisciplinary approach, we hope that the students, teachers, researchers, scientists, policy makers and environmental lawyers will find this volume much more useful.
