Sustainable development and accounting for the sustainable development has gained the attention of the whole world towards environment degradation. It is well established and widely believed in society that the major contributor to climate change is the increase in greenhouse gases, which cause an increase in the temperature of planet earth. Cement, which is the most important and profitable product in the building material sector and the cement industry also faces many challenges due to environmental concerns and sustainability issues. Thus the study was conducted to analyze the current practices of sustainable accounting in Indian Cement companies and to develop a sustainable accounting framework for cement industry in Indian context. This book also provides the study results about developing the accounting framework to report for the sustainable activities to the stakeholders with sustainable reporting framework. We hope that it will br useful for the purpose of making this concept familiar to the readers and will be helpful for the researcher and avademician for understanding and giving training for accounting of the sustainable development.
