The Consumer Protection Act, 1986 was enacted with the object of protecting the interest of consumers. The scope of the Act extends to both Goods as well as Services and thus in case of any defect or deficiency or in case of any malpractice adopted by the Manufacturer/Trader or the Service Provider, as the case may be, the remedy available with the Consumer has been provided under the Act.
