Synopsis The main characteristic of this book is that it presents a contemporary character of several movements, specially of the Ramakrishna movement. History might have some past traditional and eternal impressions but the contemporary impact is really the core of history. All it's actions and inter actions are the nodal points that make a passage of such a history, which is thereby contemporary and social. History thereby is not a fall out from the heavens, God or any such divine personalities. Infact God and his incarnations are also made out of such contemporary situations, to respond to some period of history accordingly. Thus anything embodied in life is with time and situations around. It is therefore comparative always in the sense that it is contemporary. Without this contemporary background and a real understanding of life and time history will simply remain a mere Utopian belief. Such a study of life, mind and its interaction can fill up a great gap. And this book covers this gap to some extent perhaps.
