Dr. (Mrs.) Neeta Sharma, Lecturer in the Department of Botany, University of Lucknow, Lucknow (U.P.) is an active and dedicated researcher in the arena of Plant Pathology of fruits and vegetables. She has a brilliant academic record and written several papers in scientific periodicals of national and International repute. She contributed many review chapters to some of the important publications on the subject. In addition, credit goes to her for writing many popular science articles which have appeared in leading news-papers and renowned magazines. An outstanding teacher and an enthusiastic scientist Dr. Sharma is an active member of several scientific societies of India. She is fellow of pathological society of India and Bioved Research Society. Currently she is on the editorial Board of Bioved.

Avantina Sharma is a young and dynamic writer, She is an achiever in life with exceptional achievements-both in the academic as well as extra curricular field, varied interests and expert communication skills. She has done her Master of Science in Nutrition from Isabella Thoburn College, Lucknow. Endowed with good oratorical skills, she has been a meritorious scholarships like DST Award for ‘Meeting of Noble Laureates and Students” in Lindau, Germany, DAAD (German) scholarship, Margaret Wallace Scholarship, Mary. E. Shannon Scholarship and has maintained position at the top in academics. Her interaction with students, faculties, scientists- of national and international repute, Noble laureates- in India and abroad coupled with compering on TV and exchange with media-both visual and print gradually developed in her an appetite for good and popular writing on scientific and articles in newspapers, magazines, seminars and conferences, Presently she is teaching at a prestigious college and this book is dedicated to the students, teaching faculty, scientific community and all health conscious people who have an appetite for gaining knowledge about food.
