Deendayal Upadhyay was born on 25-09-1916 in Mathura in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India. He was an Indian Politician, Historian, Journalist, Philosopher & Economist. Upadhyaya is well known for his idea as Integral Humanism - the concept which is deeply embedded in Indian psyche. The philosophy of integral humanism advocate the simultaneous and integrated program of the body, mind and intellect and soul of each human being. Deendayal was highly encouraged and dedicated towards social service since his early years. This proved correct when he got associated with Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) during his college times in Kanpur in 1937. There he interacted with RSS founder, Dr. Hedgewar and devoted himself totally towards the organization. After college in 1942, he did not look out for a job nor did he marry; instead he attended the 40-day summer RSS camp at Nagpur to undergo training in Sangh Education. Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay died on 11-02-1968 in Mughalsarai, Chandauli, Uttar Pradesh, India. He died while travelling in a train. The book is an attempt to explain, analyse and evaluate the humanism of Deendayal Upadhyaya. In this study, mainly the textual analysis of his writings has been attempted. However, to grasp the real spirit of Upadhyaya's ideas, contextual analysis has also been incorporated.
