Mr. Indu Shekhar Jha is presently the Chairman & Managing Director in Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. Mr. Jha is a renowned Power Sector professional possessing professional experience of over 38 years. Experience spans all the facets of power sector; conceptualization, planning, design, engineering, execution, monitoring, etc. Holding an Electrical Engineering degree from NIT, Jamshedpur and memberships of several prestigious professional bodies including Institution of Engineers (India), IEEE in USA and CIGRE in France. He has contributed significantly in National Transmission Planning and interconnection of regional grids resulting a Pan India National Grid. He spearheaded development of 11 high Capacity corridors for seamless flow of power from large generation complexes to load centers in different regions as well as Green Energy Corridors for renewable integration. Mr. Jha is instrumental in introducing innovative technologies such as HVDC, STATCOM, Flexible AC Transmission System, 1200 kV AC etc., and also spearheading development and deployment of emerging technologies such as Smart Grid, Wide Area Measurement System (WAMS), Energy Efficiency etc. towards sustainability. He is a key member for realizing SAARC grid into reality.
