About the authors

N.P. Singh

N.P. Singh is presently working as a Principal Scientist and Head, Division of Agronomy, School of Agricultural Science and Rural Development, Nagaland University, Medziphema. He completed his M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Agronomy from the Institute of Agricultural Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. He is a recipient of District Merit Fellowship and BHU Fellowship. He has published 38 research papers and 70 popular articles. He has also attended 76 conferences at regional, national and international levels.

D K Singh

Dr. D.K. Singh, is a recipient of award from the State Forest Department of Rajasthan for production and protection of plants through scientific techniques and gold medallist from the C.S.A. University of Agriculture and Technology, Kanpur, U.P., where he did his B.Sc. (Ag. & A.H.) and M.Sc. (Ag) Horticulture in 1988 and 1992 respectively. He obtained his doctorate degree from the G.B. pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, Uttranchal in 1996 on the research entitled “Effect of paclobutrazol on growth and bearing of mango cultivars”. He was awarded senior research fellowship from I.C.A.R., New Delhi. Dr. Singh started his carrier in 1995 as Assistant Agriculture Research Officer (Horticulture) at Government Agriculture Research Statioin, Hanumangarh Town, Rajasthan. Presently he is Assistant Professor, Horticulture at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Anta, Baran under, M.P. University of Agriculture and Technology, Udaipur. The author has published more than 125 research papers and popular articles in various journals and magazines on various aspects of horticulture besides two bulletins, 5 folders and a pamphlet. He participated in many national and international symposium, workshop and training programme.

B.P. Uniyal

Sri B.P. Uniyal is a retired Botanist and worked with the Botanical Survey of India in different capacities. He joined the department inApril 1964 at Northern circle. Dehradun and also worked at Eastern circle, Shillong and Central National Herbarium, Howrah for brief periods. During his active service he explored parts of Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi and Uttaranchal and collected thousands of specimens. He also participated in the Panchachuli Multi-Dimensional expeditioin organized by the Army in 1998. He is author of 11 books and co-editor of three volumes of Flora of India. He has also published abkut 40 research papers in different Indian and foreign scientific journals.
