Synopsis This book presents a study of Economic Zoology prescribed by the syllabi for B.Sc., B.Sc. (Hons.) and M.Sc. students of Indian universities. Some animal species are very useful for mankind while others cause great loss to the economy. Though each and every individual has its own importance in nature but a few of them such as insects (silk worms, lac insect, honey bee), prawns, fishes, birds and mammals in the modern era of technology are gaining too much importance. Some pests have a very good status in small scale industries. So the study of economy of the animals would be much fruitful to mankind. Efforts have been made to collect latest informations from several standard works and journals to include all important points and details in a concise and lucid way.
