Synopsis

This book is the history of the culture and civilization, places and historical buildings belonging to the Mewat region with architectural details and political history. This work deals with the political, cultural and archaeological history of Mewat region including the history of the Mewat region and its inhabitants, the Meos, from the very beginning of their settlement in India and their migration to the Mewat region. This book also deals with history of Mewat under Yaduvanshi Khanzada rule from the time of the earliest invasion of the Iltutmish and Balban covering the Tughlaqs, Sayyids and Lodis to the British period in modern times. This is perhaps the first attempt to cover the forgotten region in the light of the original and oral sources. For the learners, researchers and to the students of history and archaeology, this work is very beneficial for the references and general knowledge.
