Published under UGC Special Assistance Programme, this volume, containing 110 abstracts of theses on different topics of management and allied areas, provides a glimpse of research work done by various scholars on the subject in the last five decades. The first chapter on general management in Public sector and large private sector units also includes research abstracts on impact of Government agencies in tribal villages. The second chapter on industrial economics covers machine tools, ancillary industry, mining, poultry, dairy, khandsari, handloom, handicrafts, imitation jewellery, printing, film exhibiting and heavy industry. Performance of small entrepreneurs in business and agriculture forms the subject matter of the third chapter while finance of universities, Indian Railways, large and small scale units, informal sector and rural electrification besides costing, taxation and Government expenditure, are the topics in the fourth chapter. The sixth chapter includes summarized works on marketing cereals, sugarcane, cotton, cashew, jaggery, consumer products, fertilizer, marine fishery products and marketing operations of FCI, PDS and Indian Railways. The seventh chapter is on rural banks, agricultural credit, lead bank scheme, institutional finance and performance evaluation of EDBI. Rail and road transportation of passengers and agricultural commodity, urban road safety and performance of Indian Airlines are some of the topics in the eighth chapter. The book will enable academicians, administrators, planers, policy makers and research scholars to take stock of theses already published on management and allied areas.
