Living Traditions of Vedas
The book 'Living Traditions of Vedas' carries a few selected research articles of eminent scholars in the field of Vedic Indology. They are selected from the articles presented in the sixth International Vedic workshop organized at Kozhikode (Calicut) in the southern Indian state of Kerala, during 7-10, January 2014. The contributors to this volume include almost all the leading scholars in this field. It carries not only articles on scholarly interpretations of the theoretical aspects of the Vedas but also those on rare chanting traditions of Vedas practiced, especially in Kerala, even now. Some articles go deep into the scholarly discussions on the linguistic aspects of the Vedic literature, while some others explore new areas of study on Vedic knowledge based on the surviving Vedic ritual practices. These articles together can give a broad and in-depth picture of the different aspects of the literary as well as the ritual traditions of Vedas surviving in the world. The content of the book is expected to give new dimensions to the studies and researches on Vedas and the related knowledge traditions.
