Tuber Crops
About the Book
In this book, we are dealing with various vegetables having their underground parts modified in the form of corms, tubers, tuberous roots and rhizomes to store food materials for perennation. We could found only 31 such vegetables to be tuberous though in certain other literature sources certain root crops such as yam bean (Pachyrrhizus erosus), Japanese arrowroot (Pueraria lobata), etc. are also described as tuber crops due to wrong placing though these are root crops. Every important aspect of each and every edible tuber crop has briefly been covered in a quite comprehensive manner apart from their photographs in most of the cases. The book has been written for horticultural students (B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D.) and those preparing for ARS Exams, for teachers and researchers in horticulture and vegetables, to development officers at district level, and more so for farmers of the country.
