Precision Livestock Farming
Majority of the farming community are not aware of new developments that could help them with enhancing farm productivity, meeting their requirements, or solving problems. "Lab to Land" has become the motto for progression in agriculture and related sectors.
Disseminating the most recent research to end users involves the extension wing, a two-way bridge that connects researchers and farmers.
If technology is confined to paper and within the walls of institutions, it is meaningless. Its full potential won't be achieved unless farmers—the end users, try it out in the field and provide input for further development.
Not every farmer in the region can be reached by the institute. For those farmers, district-level Krishi Vigyan Kendras, also known as farmers advising centres, are in operation. To meet the requirements of farmers in many sectors, these Kendras have a variety of subject matter experts, including specialists in animal science.
Subject matter specialists and scientists working in different Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVS) from the state of Punjab, Jammu andKashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand attended the same along with few stakeholders as the representatives of the farmers communities.
