From the preface: Algal Flora of Nepal Vol. 2 Glaucophyta, Rhodophyta, Ochrophyta, Miozoa, Euglenozoa and Chlorophyta is the comprehensive record of algal flora of Nepal. It includes keys, description and dimensions to aid identification, distribution in Nepal and Asia to assess rarity and geographic spread, accepted scientific names to promote communication, synonyms to help to interpret previous work. These provide the baseline data needed for phycological research in Nepal.

The Department of Plant Resources have produced the Algal Flora of Nepal in different volumes to finish compiling the nation’s algal flora. This is the second volume and the next volume will appear successively in the coming year.

After nearly four years of arduous effort, we are pleased that this book is now published. 371 taxa from 153 genera, 66 families and 27 orders including nine new species. This book can be valuable resources for algae researchers as well as useful for the teaching material in universities.
