JDS-Glimpses Of Banaras
This sacred city... With its thousands temples, the Gangà and its palpable spiritual atmosphere... Where the gods are mingled with the daily life... With poetry present everywhere in the colours, the forms and in the stunningchythms... This city has revealed itself as an inexhaustible source of inspiration that has given birth to drawings and watercolors. Most of them were sketched on the spot on the ghits, or in the temples, or when walking in the alleys, or during the concerts following the entrancing rhythms of the rigas. Since she discovered India, thirty years ago, around 1995, Evelyne Lefort, a Belgian artist, painter, and student of the "Académie des Beaux-Arts" in Belgium, felt that her life was henceforth linked to this country and more particularly to Varinasi, Banáras, Kashi... Hence this book was born...sharing her interpretation of various facets of this fascinating and magical city..
