About the authors

Max-Jean Zins

Max-Jean Zins is a senior researcher at the CNRS (Centre National De Ia Recherche Scientifique). He is Presently attached to the Centre dâ€™Etudes et de Recherches Internationales, Paris, and is also a member of the Centre dâ€™Etudes de Iâ€™Inde et de Iâ€™Asie du Sud, Paris. His latest book is titled Pakistan: The Quest for Identity (Paris; Belin-La Documentation Francaise, 2001). While working on this project, he had been associated with the Woodrow Wilson Center in Washington.

Gilles Boquerat

Gilles Boquerat holds a Ph.D. in History from the University of Sorbonne. He is currently Head of Department of International Relations at the Centre de Sciences Humaines, New Delhi. He is also a member of the Centre dâ€™Etudes de Iâ€™Inde et de Iâ€™Asie du Sud (Centre for Indian and South Asian Studies), Paris. Dr. Boquerat has published a number of articles on Indiaâ€™s foreign policy in international journals as well as edited volumes. He is the co-editor of India in the Mirror of Foreign Diplomatic Archives (Manohar, 2003).
