Synopsis Regional cooperation in South Asia was initiated through formation of South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) to combat many problems like inflation, poverty, unemployment, etc., confronting its member countries-India, Sri Lank, Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan , Bangladesh and Maldives.
