Dr. Sarthak Chowdhury (b. 1959) graduated in Agriculture and M.Sc. (Agri.) in Agricultural Extension from Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyataya, West Bengal. He received Ph. D. degree from Visva – Bharati in 1988. His areas of specialization are Technology Transfer and Agricultural Communication. Dr. Chowdhury was lecturer in the Department of Extension Education, Institute of Agricultural Science, Banaras Hindu University fro April 1989 to August 1997. Presently he is serving as Reader in Agricultural Extension of Visva Bharati. Dr. Chowdhury who has a distinguished academic career, has several research publications to his credit, and is actively engaged in teaching, research and extension activities. He supervised the work of one Ph. D. scholar.

Prof. Debabrata Das Gupta (b. 1943) graduated in Agriculture and M.Sc. (Agri), in Agricultural Extension from university of Kalyani, West Bengal. He was awarded Ph.D. degree in Agricultural extension by Uiniversity of Kalyani in 1969. Since 1988 he has been serving in the same institute as Professor of Agricultural Extension, Institute of Agriculture, Visva – Bharati in 1966. Since 1988 he has been serving in the same institute as Professor of Agricultural Extension. During the period between January 1995 and June 1997 he headed the Department of Agricultural Extension, Agricultural Economics, Visva –Bharati. He is presently holding highest academic post as Vice-chancellor of Bidhan Chandra krishi Viswavidhyalaya in West Bengal. Prof. Das Gupta has supervised the work of thirteen scholars who have been awarded Ph. D. Degree from different Universities. Presently he is guiding seven such scholars. He has completed a number of major research and extension projects sponsored by ICAR and Govt. of West Bengal. His fields of specialisastion are Technology Transfer, Rural Development and Agricultural Communication.
