Philosophical Aphorisms: Critical Encounters with Heidegger and Nietzsche

Daniel Fidel Ferrer (Author)
Synopsis This book uses the aphorist methodology to enter into a discourse with philosophers in an attempt to engage in philosophizing. The aphorism is often compared to the concept of sutra. The key insight was in ascertaining Nietzsche’s depth and understanding of the methodology of aphorisms. This is not an introduction or a summary of Heidegger or Nietzsche. In fact, even though a fair number of philosophers are discussed this book is not just concerning them. All of the great philosophers Plato, Aristotle, Descartes, Kant, Schelling, Hegel, Nietzsche, and Heidegger uniquely and creatively altered the very nature of philosophy through the fundamental and radical transformation of the essential nature of philosophical thinking and methodology. This is a modern and a post-modern critical encounter with these philosophers by a thinker and a philosopher. It is an example of philosophizing and it is not a simple summary of philosophical thinking. It is the actual raw process of thinking with them. There is also a portion of this book about philosophy in general using the methodology of the aphorism.
