Synopsis The Anglo-American Cataloguing Rules (AACR) is a multinational content standard for providing bibliographic description and access for all media. It is independent of the format used to communicate information. It enables users of library catalogues and other systems of information organization to find resources appropriate to their information needs. While developed for use in English language communities, it can also be used in other language communities.
