Therefore the book presents an assessment of the Indian economic reforms largely for the first decade. Analysis of economic reforms was carried out both at the macro level and in relation to specific sectors. Macro assessment of the new economic policies was carried out from the viewpoint of fiscal reforms, labour and employment policies, regional imbalances and the convergence of Indian states.
