About the authors

D.R. Khanna

Dr. D.R. Khanna, Ph.D., FIAES, FASEA, FNC, FZSI, FSES is Professor in Department of Zoology and Environmental Science, Gurukula Kangri University, Hardwar (U.A.), India. He is a well known Limnologist and has published about 65 research papers and articles on limnology and aquatic microbiology. He has edited 6 books in the field of Environment and written 5 books in limnology and zoology, and a book of Yajya “Yajya evam Vayu Pradushan". Dr. Khanna is an editor of two journals "Environment Conservation Journal" and "Journal of Natural Conservators" and member of editorial board of three journals. He has also organized several National Seminars as organizing secretary/joint organizing secretary. He is awarded by ASEA Excellence Award-2000, and Nature Conservators Impetus Gold Medal-2003.

A.K. Chopra

Prof. A.K. Chopra, Head, Department of Zoology and Environmental Sciences,s Gurukula Kangri Vishwavidyalaya, Haridwar has taken his M.Sc. and Ph.D. from Lucknow University, Lucknow. His main areas of specialization include Parasitology, Environmental pollution and Environmental microbiology. He started his career in 1977. He has published over 100 research papers in reputed national and international journals, has written more than 30 articles and has authored 4 books. He has handled four research projects besides participating in various Indian and International conferences. Prof. Chopra has been chairman / member of various National expert / academic committees. He is on the panel of referee of various national and international journals and has been actively engaged in various extension and field outreach activities. He is also a fellow member of Indian Academy of Environmental Sciences, Hardwar and Zoological Society of India. In 2001, Prof. Chopra was awarded Indian Academy of Environmental Sciences Gold Medal for Contribution in the field of Life Sciences and Environmental Sciences. He has also been conferred Nature Conservators, Kautilaya Gold Medal-2002 for his outstanding contributions in the field of Microbial Parasitology by Nature Conservators, India.

G. Prasad

Dr. G. Prasad, Reader in the Department of Botany and Microbiology, has earned his M.Sc. degree from Kanpur University and Ph.D. degree from Kurukshetra University. He was awarded Senior Research Fellowship and Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship of the CSIR, New Delhi, during the Ph.D. He has been the Organizing Secretary of National Seminar on Biotechnology: new Trends and Prospects, 1996. he has published nearly 42 research papers in foreign and Indian journals of International repute. He is Coeditor of the Book "Microbes: Agriculture, Industry and Environment, 2000."
