About the authors

Peeyush Bajpai

Peeyush Bajpai has graduated in engineering and management. He has been studying urban development, Indian consumer Demography, education, water supply and sanitation for the last many years. He has published books that include The Market Skyline of India, 2002(jointly with M. Bordoloi and L. Bhandari), and District consumer profile of India, 2004, Indicus Analytics, New Delhi. His Papers on urban development, infrastructure, and small business have been published in many edited volumes as journals

Laveesh Bhandari

Laveesh Bhandari completed his Ph.D. in Economics from Boston University, USA in 1996. He received the Exim Bank Best Thesis in International Economics award in 1996. Previously he was awarded the Hite Fellowship for his work on International Finance. He has taught economics at Boston University and IIT Delhi and was also the Managing Editor of the Journal of emerging Market Finance. He worked on Industry and Infrastructure development issues at NCAER between 1996 and 2000 and since has been leading socio-economic research at Indicus Analytics.

Aali Sinha

Aali Sinha has studied sociology at the postgraduate level. As a researcher at Indicus Analytics she has worked extensively on reproductive child health, education of poor children, and access to water supply and sanitation.
