Synopsis Banking sector plays a vital role in the economic development of a country. It is also an integral part of the financial system of a modern industrial economy. During the post-nationalization era, this sector had phenomenal growth and thus a study of its efficiency was of paramount importance. The reforms in the banking sector was made in 1991 with the advent of liberalization of the economy.
