Synopsis Number of aged of our society is increasing. Similarly proportion of women is the work-force is also rising leading to structural changes in society. Family has been the major source of care-giving to the aged’s. Forces of modernization, urbanization, industrialization and individualism etc have weakened he family ties as a result aged’s care is at a stake. The book deals with the problems of aged’s care by the working women, The problem has been examined from different angles. Such as: How do the working women take aged’s care? What are their problems in caring the aged? How does aged’s care vary with regard to age, religion, education, occupation relation with the aged, gender of the aged, etc. what is the attitude of the working women toward the aged? Ic. The books is based on field research is Agra including case studies. Three major occupational groups viz. Teaching, Medical and central government offices have been choosen. The book is decided into eight chapters first, consists of introduction, second concentrates on the methodology, Third, focuses on the attitudes of the working women towards the aged, fourth emphasizes on gender bias in care of the aged, fifth deals with the aspects of life of the working women and care of the aged, sixth discusses how does the aged’s care get effected by motives of the working women? Seventh explains the relationship between socio economic status of the working women and care of the aged and eight gives conclusions and suggestions.
