Dr. S.N. Singh (b. 1941) formerly Professor in the Department of Public Administration, Lucknow University, is the Secretary of the Institute for Applied Research and Development, a non-governmental organization based at Lucknow. From 1980 to 1984 Dr. Singh was with L.B.S. National Academy of Administration, Mussoorie as Reader in Public Administration on deputation. His academic career covers a span of about four decades in which he has to his credit eight books already published. Two under publication on various important themes of social relevance. He has published more than 40 papers in the reputed journals. His experience of teaching, research and training for long years has enabled him to produce works which have been widely acclaimed. As Secretary of the IARD since 1995 he has been engaged in academic as well as social service activities. Under the banner of the Institute several activities have been organized since its inception.

(Kr.) Amarendra Narain (b. 1958) graduated from Cachar College, Silchar with Economics honours and took his post-Graduate degree in the same subject under Gauhati university and Ph.D. degree from Magadh University, Gaya. He served as Lecturer in M.S.Y. College, Gaya for nearly 20 years before joining R.S.P. College, Jaintpur under B.R. Ambedkar University, Muzaffarpur (Bihar). He was also the research Associate under UGC-sponsored Major Research Project on “Socio-Economic and Political Problems of Tea Workers of Barak Valley (Assam).” Besides, he participated in various seminars/workshops organised by different colleges/universities at regional and national levels and has presented papers in them.

Dr. Purnendu Kumar (b. 1962), passed M.A. (Political Science) from Magadh University, Bodh-Gaya and did his M.A. (Public Administration) from North-Eastern Hill University, Shillong. He was awarded Ph.D. degree by the University of Gauhati. He is currently working as senior lecturer in Political Science at Cachar College, Silchar. He has participated in several local, regional and National seminars, conferences, workshops and contributed numerous research papers. He has to his credit a number of published research articles in edited volumes and journals. At present he is working on a UGC sponsored Research project on ‘Bureaucracy and Rural Development in Assam’. He is a life-member of North-East India Political Science Association and Indian Institute of Public Administration.
