Synopsis
With Successful implementation of the TLCs all over the country, a situation is fast emerging where there is a million of people with basic literacy skills. In order to strengthen and promote the newly learnt skills, the government has launched Continuing Education Programme. The p[resent work relates to the evaluation of the Continuing Education Programme implemented in the States of Andhra Pradesh and Kerala. The book contains 11 Chapters. Chapter I Introduction describes the genesis of the programme, strengths of CEP. The chapter II Status of the Continuing Education Programme in Andhra Pradesh and Kerala. The Profile of the partners of the Continuing Education is presented in the chapter III. Chapter IV provides Infra Structural facilities available for continuing education centres and the Functioning of Continuing Education centres is discussed in chapter V. Chapters Vi, VII and VIII contain Performance of the Preraks, Training needs of the Preraks and Preraks and Problems of the Preraks. The chapter IX discusses the suggestions given by the functionaries. The chapter X deals with the Role of Continuing Education in the promoti0n of Formal Education. The last chapter forms the summary and recommendations.
