The Communist Party of India' was founded on 17th October, 1920, in the city of Tashkent, capital of present Republic of Uzbekistan. A group of young men in India inspired by the ideals of the Russian Revolution of 1917 started grouping their way towards a Marxist policy and Programme. This was the beginning of an effort that culminated in the formation of the Communist Party of India.
