Synopsis The aim of the book is to provide wide range and authoritative coverage of copies of sustainable development. The book is arranged in 6 chapters. The first chapter deals with conceptual and theoretical framework of sustainable development. The fourth chapter deals with measurement of sustainable development, covering indicators. The fifth chapter focuses on policy issues in sustainable development covering wider topics on sustainable urban development, sustainable rural development and so on. The sixth Chapter is devoted to the global initiates for sustainable development, dealing with international agreements on sustainable development, viz., Brudtland Commission report, Rio declaration, convention on biodiversity and so on.
