Synopsis In India, a woman is traditionally regarded as an honourable and dignified personality. She is a Goddess, she is Laxmi, she is Saraswati and she is sacred mother (Devi Mata). Woman is the subject of authors and poets and the object (model) for artists and sculptors. Whatever is prevalent in the world of imagery, is not applicable to the real world of society. The harsh truth is that Indian society has not recognised woman as its bonafide member. She is still a second grade citizen, inferior to man. In fact, in a male dominated world the women-folk are kept at second fiddle only. Apart from the society, the woman has to play her due role in her family also. She is mother, sister, wife and daughter, all rolled into one. She begins as daughter and ends up as grand mother. She plays all her roles in perfection.
