Synopsis In 2004some basic changes in the International Journal of Sociology of the Family marked a tangible turning point for the publication. With a totally new editorial adivsory board, a new publisher, and even a new look for the journals, my role as the new editor-in-chief of the journal was in earnest underway. Since its inception, the journal has been a mainstay in profiling scholarship and research on the sociology of the family, and this restructuring of the journal represents a renewed commitment to this tradition. Cross Cultural Studies on the Family, featuring a select number of pieces that appeared in volume 31 of IJSF, represents the joint comitment of International Journals Inc. and Serials Publications to more broadly profile some of the research and articles featured in IJSF.
