Gandhi in Twenty-first Century
Synopsis
Gandhi was the chief architect of inducting the process of non-violence into revolution. From his huge experience, he held that non-violence or peaceful persuation can and must he an instrument of revolution. He has shown to the world that by peaceful resistance one can successfully put up a gallant fight against social injustice. Long before he pioneered the liberation movement of India through non-violence, he successfully led the non-co-operation and peaceful movement in South Africa. He applied human values in the instrument of revolution and achieved glorious success. Since then, the application of non-violence is no more a theory, but a practical law of application. It is observed that the present society is full of contradictions. Technology has no doubt fulfilled varieties of human wants and brought material prosperity to mankind. But it has not been able to fulfil the spiritual aspiration of man. The present work is a humble effort to prove the utility of Gandhian thought for the modern society.
