About the authors

Sukalpa Bhattacharjee

Sukalpa Bhattacharjee is lecturer in the Department of English at G.C. College, Silchar and Teacher Associated Fellow at the Inter University Center for Humanities, Indian Institute of Advanced Studies, Shimla (2000-2003). Her doctoral work is on Fourth World Literature from North-Eastern Hill University. Her publications are in the areas of Multi-ethnic Literatures of United States, Postcolonial Literatures, Ethnic Studies and Human Rights.

Rajesh Dev

Rajesh Dev teaches Political Science at Women's College, Shillong and was a guest lecturer to the Department of Law, North Eastern Hill University, Shillong. He had been a UGC Senior Research Fellow at NEHU for his doctoral research. Besides being a contributors of essays to edited volumes and journals like the Economic and Political Weekly, he is one of the Editors of Ethnonarratives: Identity and Experience in Northeast India. Dev contributes to regional and national dailies and has been a Resource Person for IGNOU and the NCERT. He is currently the State Co-ordinator for Meghalaya of the Centre for the Study of Developing Societies' Lokniti Programme. He was associated with the Crisis States Programme of the London School of Economics and Political Science.
