Synopsis Mass-Media is the Fourth-Estate of the Political System.  The present study is focused on the relevance and role of the newspapers to create and development of political consciousness in a democratic society.  Indian democracy is a full of diversities and every person is the part of decision making process.  Newspaper is the only channel to aware towards their rights, duties and political participation.  Policy formulation is accordingly to the channel’s feed back and interests of the people.  Hence, Media is a linkage between people and the system.  So that, this study discribe the role of newspapers to build up the awareness and consciousness of the people and to continue the communication process in the political system as well as the society.  Political communication and mass communication relationship is a relevant aspect of communication is processed by the press. So, the evolution of press in India is essential to know.  The theoretical, concept of communication, political socialization, interest articulation and aggregation, mobilization of political views has been discussed as well as newspapers maintain these concepts in the society positively.  To measure the relevance and role of newspapers in the concerning of above concepts and the society positively.  To measure the relevance and role of newspapers in the concerning of above concepts and the empirical method of the study has been applied.  By this methods, we analysed the role and functions of newspapers are performed or not in the society.  Lastly, there has been discussed the emerging issues in the concern of newspaper’s role and their problems.  This study is more relevant for media persons as well as prominent persons of political science, research scholars and others equally because of its scientific method to discribe the theoretical concepts and they are anlaysed by sampled field work.  The communication process, interest articulation, interest aggregation, political mobilization are explained with the help of figures as possible as.  I hope that this work will be useful and relevant to you.

The author of this concrete book has born in sunna village of district Muzaffar Nagar, U.P., on Ist August 1972. After completed her primary education from village, she has got graduation from M.D. University Rohtak, Haryana, M.A. M.Phil. and Ph.D. from C.C.S. University Meerut, U.P. She got diploma in Journalism from I.I.M.C. New Delhi. Now, she is a lecturer and working as a Head, Political Science Department of G.D.M.G. (PG) College, Modinangar, GZB, U.P. She was awarded JRF by the U.G.C., New Delhi. She writes in many newspapers and magzines. A short research work i.e., 'Women Empowerment: Emerging Issues' has been Published. She participated and presented many research papers in different National Seminars.
