Rajendra Kaushik (Author)
Synopsis Application of genetics in the practical management of threatened species involves increasing population size, recovery of small inbred populations, management of fragmented populations, alleviating genetic swamping due to hybridization with related species and minimizing the deleterious impacts of harvesting and exploitation.  By providing molecular techniques, conservation genetics has evolved many strategies for conservation of species by aiding in detection of illegal hunting and resolving many important aspects of genetics/species biology.  Present book endeavours to make a detailed investigation into conservation genetics along with numerous examples, case studies, research works and figures.
