Modern Political Theory is Just That. Philosophical disciplines are defined by the questions they address. Political Theory focuses on the nature and purpose of human association. Aristotle says that human beings are [political animals and, therefore, we must co-operate with others not only to survive, but also to develop our moral and intellectual faculties in association with other people. problems of communal life have been apparent since when the society first arose.
