Dhaturupaprapanca: A Dictionary of all the Forms of all the Roots in Sanskrit (In 2 Parts)
Synopsis
An inflectional language like Sanskrit inevitably presupposes a familiarity on the part of the user in the fully inflected forms in declensions and conjugations. Declensions are indeed manageable with a little patience and perserverance; but conjugational forms with ten lakaras in three numbers and three persons are a tall order. It is very difficult even for a scholar to ensure that the verbal form used by him is the correct one, given the vagaries of the vikaranapratyayas, differences in atmanepada and parasmaipada and the variable nature of infixes. Some sort of a ready reckoner would always be welcome. This is exactly what the late Vyakaranashiromani O.K. Munshi has attempted and accomplished in his monumental work, Dhaturupaprapanca; all forms of all dhatus of Sanskrit in all lakaras! This book is a labour of love and as indispensable as a dictionary for every Sanskrit lover who cares to use the language correctly.
