Special Education Teachers: Occupational Stress, Professional Burnout and Job Satisfaction
Synopsis
The present investigation aimed to assess the occupational stress, professional burnout and job satisfaction of special education teachers working in the special schools located in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu States. For this, the study developed rating scale to assess the occupational stress, professional burnout and job satisfaction of special education teachers. A checklist to ideality the infrastructure facilities available in special schools also developed. The focus of attention is to identify the level and sources of occupational stress, professional burnout and job satisfaction in special education teachers. Attempt is also made to tend out the effect of independent variables of the teachers on the teachers and their occupational stress, professional burnout and job satisfaction. Further, the study aimed finding out the correlation between occupational stress and professional burnout, occupational stress and job satisfaction and professional burnout and job satisfaction of teachers. Further the study attempted to predict to what extent and how far the independent variables (gender, age...) influence the dependent variables (OS, PB and JS) of the special education teachers.
