In Quest of Everlasting Peace
Synopsis
Jagat Guru Shankaracharya distills the essence of numerous scriptures just in one sentence when he says, Braham Satyam Jagat Mithya, Jivo Brahmim Na apriha. The Transcendent Being is the only truth, the world is illusion false and jiva is not separated from him. Body ego is the main hinderance in self-realization. When this is dissolved, the seeker, wherever his mind moves, is in a state of super consciousness or Smadhi. It is not an easy task to get rid of body ego. The precious treasure of Brahmic Bliss is closely guarded by king Cobra having three hoods that are Sat, Raj and Tam duly supported by five Kaleshas that are Avidya or ignorance, to believe in what is not true. Asimka or to consider oneself as jiva. Abhinivesh or to pressure the self as physical body, Raj or to have attachment with wordly people and objects and Dwesh or to harbour ill-will for others. The blessings of holy men, saints and mystics generate so powerful an emotional trend in the human nature that body ego of the striver is destroyed completely. Such a yogi remains cheerful, peaceful and blissful, contemplating on the world bestowed by the Guru or Master with each incoming and outgoing breath.
