The Life and Works of Jesus in India
Synopsis
This book presents a fascinating account of the years Jesus is believed to have spent in India as a young man. The text is rich in drama, and contains several parables which Jesus related. It tells how he was seen by Prince Ravanna of Orissa and invited to go to India with him; of him learning the art of healing from Udraka, a great Hindu healer in Benares; of his reaction to the caste system and of his living and teaching among the sudras; of his preaching a revolutionary sermon on equality and of his inviting the wrath of the Brahmic priests of Benares. The book tells of Jesus teachings on how to attain happiness; of his views on the Buddhist doctrine of evolution and of his discussion with the sage Vidyapati regarding the needs of the coming age. It also covers his journey to Lhasa and then to Ladakh where he taught and healed. He returned to Judea via Singh and Persia. In Persia he met the Magi who, twenty-four years earlier, had journeyed to Jerusalem, carrying gifts for the the newborn child Jesus. This material has been extracted from The Aquarian Gospel of Jesus the Christ published in 1890. It was transcribed by Levi H Dowling. It is claimed that it came to him through heavenly inspiration.
