About the author

Kanta Rehman

Dr. Kanta Rehman is a faculty member of Indian Institute of Human Rights, New Delhi. Her fields of specialization are participatory rural development, community development and human rights. She has also conducted various evaluation studies related to income generating programmes, district primary education programme, and national literacy programme at the grassroots level in rural India. She has done indepth study of urban slum dwellers working as a researcher as well as a coordinator in action work in various slums of Delhi, Calcutta, Madras and Bombay with various national and international level NGOs. She has also written a number of articles and is co-author of various books.
