Synopsis In today's world, the various forms of the electronic media are intricately woven into the fabric of a child’s life, with television, movies, videos, music, video games, and computers central to both learning and play. The way the children respond to any interactive media and educational content delivered through it, has both immediate and long range impact on them. Paralleling these advantages of the media, is also the reality that young children are most exposed to the negative effects of media usage, resulting in disorders such as obesity, aggression, fear, and sleep disturbances, etc. that has of late turned into a social menace. Analyzing both the positive and the negative impacts of various forms of media on children and youth, the need arises to educate them for optimum utilization of media resources. This book is thus an attempt to explore the pervasive growth and scope of media in different fields related to children. It also delves into how the media affects and shapes the minds of children both positively and negatively. The objective of the book is to understand and evaluate the impact media has on children and help them become a critical and informed viewers.
