Reviews on Indian Medicinal Plants, Volume 7: Cl-Co
Medicinal plants are rich and widely accepted source for traditional and modern medicines, phytopharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, cosmetics, etc. In India particularly, medicinal plants form the backbone of all indigenous systems of medicine. A lot of work is being carried out encompassing various aspects of medicinal plants at global level. This has led to plethora of publications in various periodicals, reports, conference proceedings, etc. This necessitates compilation of published work in various disciplines. A programme aimed at compilation of multidisciplinary scientific information on medicinal plants and to bring out a series of Monographs was initiated by the council. The present volume is seventh in the series and incorporates information on about 220 plant species. The monographs may be of importance in developing new herbal drugs for health care, setting R&D priorities, in IPR related issues in the area of medicinal plants. The compilation may also serve as an inventory of the Indian medicinal plants that have been investigated. The Monographs will be of great utility to scientific community, policy makers, regulatory authorities, herbal drug industry, practitioners of different systems of medicine and others interested in use of medicinal plants.
