About the author

S C Dey

S.C. Dey is a well-known rosarian, horticulturist and successful plant breeder who has originated a good number of new cultivars of the rose, dahlia, hibiscus etc. through cross breeding. He has innovated a new propagation technique of dahlia and glory lily by microtubers. He is a celebrated author of as many as twenty seven popular books on horticulture. Of them eight are in English and others in Bengali. His book Dahliar Chas (Dahlia Culture) in Bengali became the best seller on its release at Calcutta Book Fair, December, 1990. Shri Dey regularly contributes to leading horticultural journals especially Indian Horticulture, a quarterly of ICAR. He is considered a veteran judge for his participation in judging work in many leading flower shows of the country since 1970. Shri Dey is a fellow of the National Chrysanthemum Society (England)
