The GCC petrochemicals industry is going through a period of unprecedented expansion. Our analysis leads to an overall assessment of GCC petrochemical industry and finds out the favourable destinations of SID in the GCC region on the basis of identified variables. It also helps in identifying the strategic issues that will impact the future development of the GCC petrochemical industry. Finally, it will also substantially contribute in making appropriate recommendation for the industry to insure sustained growth for long-term. Based on the analysis, Saudi Arabia emerged as highly favourable destination for SID among the GCC countries whereas Kuwait, Qatar and UAE are favourable destinations for investment in petrochemical sector. The research concludes that the increasing influence of GCC on global petrochemical markets over the long term will remain due to its advantageous strategic Investment Parameters. Further petrochemical development in GCC countries will lead to growth in tertiary, energy-intensive and export-oriented conversion industries.
