About the authors

H.C. Pande

Dr. H.C. Pande, Scientist â€˜Câ€™ Botanical Survey of India (NC), Dehra Dun, obtained Ph.D. from Kumaon University, Nainital. Later for post doctoral work, he joined National Botanical Research Institute, Lucknow. Prior to his present assignment at B.S.I., Dehra Dun, he has worked in Central National Herbarium (CAL), Howrah. Dr. Pande has more than forty research papers and two books to his credit. He has been also the recipient of the prestigious â€œProfessor S.S. Bir Medalâ€ for the year 2002.

P.C. Pande

Dr. P.C. Pande, M.Sc. (Bombay), Ph.D., F.I.F.S., F.B.S., F.E.S., presently Reader in Botany, Kumaon University, S.S.J. Campus, Almora. Dr. Pande obtained his Ph.D. on â€œFlora of Almora Districtâ€ in 1985. Since then he is actively involved in researches of various fields of botany, viz., taxonomy, Ethnobotany, Ecology and IPRs. He has published more than 80 research research papers and is author and editor to 4 books. He is currently engaged on research of Traditional knowledge system of Medicinal plants of Uttaranchal.
