Terrorism today is a threat to peace, security, and development anywhere. As a global threat, terrorism is said to emanate from specific countries of South-Central Asia. While this threat has diverted the development drive of the world community towards a fight against terrorism, it is imperative to find how the countries of South and Central Asia are coping with such a situation. What do they need to do at a collective level? This calls for an in-depth comprehension of the problems and prospects of regional cooperation within South and Central Asia.

The book is an effort to meet such a need. It is an outcome of the deliberations made by eminent scholars and administrators from India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Central Asian countries at the International Conference on Cooperative Development, Peace, and Security in South and Central Asia.
