Swami Dayananda: Saints of India
Synopsis
Swami Dayananda played a most significant role in the foundation of the Arya Samaj during the nineteenth century. The theme contains seventeen chapters having deep linkage with the socio-religious philosophy of Swamiji who was eminently dedicated to the vedic culture. His teachings indeed greatly influenced the people, mostly of the Northern region and Lahore became the biggest centre of Arya Samaj. The chapters deal with his concept of nationalism, the development of D.A.V. institutions, conception of God and soul, Muslim and Christian influences, status of women, Shuddhi and society, equality and injustice for all, prominence of vedic cult and last but not the least social and religious upliftment. This work would be useful for teachers, researchers, students and learned persons who are interested in the vedic philosophy as preached by Swami Dayananda and the Arya Samaj. Indeed it would have an academic market in India and abroad.
